SUMMARY:Bridge to Belonging for First-Year Students
DESCRIPTION:Bridge to Belonging (previously known as ProjectConnect) helps you build a stronger campus community for greater well-being. In this program\, you will meet in groups of 4 to 6 participants over five 1-hour sessions and engage in thought-provoking questions and activities.\nThere are student groups and faculty/staff groups available. Bridge to Belonging is a great fit for those who are:\n\nCommunity-builders who want to improve the well-being of the George Mason community\nCommitted to participating in deeper\, more interesting conversations\nNew to George Mason or want to expand their social circle\nInterested in getting to know others in a small group setting (4 to 6 participants)\nWilling to commit to all session dates\n\nGeorge Mason first-year students and transfer students\, enjoy a Bridge to Belonging group on Tuesdays at 3 p.m. on February 3\, February 10\, February 17\, February 24\, and March 3. The group will meet in person in the Northern Neck area of the Fairfax campus. You’ll receive the location after you register. \nRegistration will be open from January 12\, 2026\, to January 28\, 2026. Register here.

SUMMARY:Book Discussion Groups for Faculty and Staff
DESCRIPTION:Faculty/staff small-group book discussion groups are designed to foster conversation around social connection\, loneliness\, sense of belonging\, and other well-being topics. Join us this fall as we read Project UnLonely: Healing Our Crisis of Disconnection by Jeremy Nobel\, MD\, MPH. \nThis is a two-session book discussion. In session one\, participants will discuss the book\, and in session two\, participants will get to experience the Colors and Connection program outlined in the book. A free copy of the book will be provided upon registration. \nThese small-group discussion groups are designed to foster conversation around social connection\, loneliness\, sense of belonging\, and other well-being topics! \nRegister on Eventbrite for one of the following book discussion sessions.\n\nFriday\, February 20 and 27\, from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. via Zoom: Registration will be open from January 12-27\, 2026.
