Attendees can take pictures of themselves and write on the picture what they like about themselves (an act of self-love and kindness). Attendees will also have an opportunity to get MCK swag\, learn about the MCK toolkit\, and do Pats for Pats. After the event\, we are going to hang up all the pictures for the rest of the week. DESCRIPTION:Every Body Move: Movement in the Amphitheater\nCome enjoy the sunshine and take a well-being break from finals prep to enjoy a movement-based workshop\, co-hosted by the Center for the Advancement of Well-Being and the College of Visual and Performing Arts. For 90 minutes\, you will be moving with your peers and the Mason community\, led by teaching artist Pia Murray. This event is geared toward non-dancers and\, as the title suggests\, everyone’s body moves in wonderful ways. \nRegister on Mason 360 here! \nEvery Body Move is an initiative started by Camille A. Brown to bring communities together through movement. This equity-based workshop utilizes movement styles found in African and Black social dance. Its aim is to nurture participants\, spur creativity and self-expression\, promote health\, well-being\, and body positivity\, and build a sense of community through movement and dance. \nThis multigenerational and gender-inclusive workshop is free and open to anyone in the Mason community – students\, faculty\, and staff are all invited. \nRegistration is strongly encouraged but not required. Dress for movement. \n

DESCRIPTION:Learn ways to reduce the stigma of a mental illness and have a strategy to help someone experiencing a mental health crisis. \nAbout this event:\nMason’s Student Health Services and the Center for the Advancement of Well-Being are pleased to offer Mental Health First Aid Training at no cost to members of the university community (faculty\, staff\, students). The training will be offered via Zoom. Participants are strongly encouraged to purchase a copy of the updated handbook for $18.95 through Student Health Services. An electronic version of an older edition of the handbook will be provided for no cost. \nThis 8-hour training will be split into two 4-hour sessions. You must attend both days (April 21 and 22) from 9 am until 1 pm. Successful completion of the 8-hour training will result in a three-year Mental Health First Aid certification. \nWe ask that you use your Mason email address to register for this training.
