
Timothy Little is Director of Tim Little Coaching and Mediation LLC in Frederick, Maryland. Mr. Little serves as an independent mediator, leadership coach, and facilitator. Mr. Little provides mediation, facilitation, conflict coaching, and leadership coaching to federal agencies, academia, non-profit organizations, and clients worldwide. He coaches leaders working in multiple countries on six continents. As a mediator, Mr. Little conducts a large volume of complex workplace mediations. He is sought after to train and mentor new mediators.
Previously, Mr. Little served as a Leadership Development Specialist in the Leadership and Management School at the U.S. Department of State. During his tenure with the State Department, Mr. Little served as a mediator, EEO Specialist, and Associate Ombudsman. He created numerous leadership initiatives related to conflict resolution, receiving a Department of State Meritorious Honor Award, a Franklin Award, and two Superior Honor Awards. Mr. Little served for fourteen years in the federal government as a certified and experienced facilitator, organizational development (OD) practitioner, mentor mediator, executive coach, and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) specialist.
Before his work at the Department of State, Mr. Little worked at the Department of Navy as a mediator, conflict and leadership development coach, facilitator, and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program manager. Mr. Little is the recipient of the NAVAIR Commander’s Award and the Department of Navy’s ADR Award for pioneering the Navy’s first conflict coaching program.
Mr. Little attended Loyola Marymount University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and in Music. Most recently, Mr. Little completed The New England Complex Systems Institute’s (NECSI) Executive Program and Complexity Course. He is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) and an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). He is a certified mentor mediator, conflict coach, and Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI) facilitator. Mr. Little was first trained as a mediator in middle school under a Peer Mediation program.
In 2021, Mr. Little rode the TransAmerica bicycle route from VA to OR (4,400 miles through 10 states). He learned a lot about American culture and history.
