Dr. Rachel Yoho is a faculty member in the Stearns Center for Teaching and Learning, serving as the Assistant Director. She has an interdisciplinary background with expertise in global climate change, renewable energy technologies, and environmental health. Dr. Yoho is an award-winning educator with extensive experience as a faculty member. She is a Fulbright awardee and completed a Fulbright Specialist award visiting the University of Galway (Ireland).
In the Stearns Center, she support faculty in their teaching. She run workshops, a faculty funding programs, leadership development, an organizational change professional development opportunity, and host the Stearns Center’s podcast. These workshops include a range of topics, including building inclusive syllabi, preparing for and managing difficult conversations, faculty mental health, supporting first generation college students, trauma-informed pedagogy, and others. The goal of these opportunities is to create spaces that support the well-being of everyone – students, instructors, and teaching assistants. She also does research and publish on this work that supports well-being, resilience, purpose, and lifelong learning.
