Julia Morelli

Julia Morelli, MS, RYT 200, is President of the GMU Instructional Foundation. Her expertise in communication, leadership, the mind-body connection, conflict, and well-being are reflected in her work as a coach. Her experience includes twenty-five years working with individuals, executives, and teams to enhance their ability to interact effectively, and identify and reach their individual and organizational goals.

Julia knows the potential coaching can release personally and professionally. In addition to her role as President of the non-profit George Mason University Instructional Foundation, she serves as a workplace coach, organizational development consultant, and trainer and facilitator for Mason’s Leadership Legacy program and Emerging Leaders Supervisors’ Series. For over two decades, she served as an individual and group mediator for the VA Dept. of Employment Dispute Resolution, and remains committed to proactive conflict engagement. She serves on the Anti-Racism and Inclusive Excellence training task force.

She is an adjunct faculty member for Mason’s Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution. As a Senior Fellow with the Center for the Advancement of Well-Being, she teaches the Well-Being Living Learning Community course, co-chairs the Leading to Well-Being Speakers Series, and provides educational workshops.

Her practice with Holistic Solutions, Inc. focuses on conflict engagement, diversity and inclusion, stress management, organizational development, communication, and the use of technology in dispute resolution.

Julia holds an MA in Interdisciplinary Studies (Organizational Conflict and Diversity Management concentration) from George Mason University and BA in Communication from George Mason University. Julia’s coaching practice and leadership skills draw on training from the American Management Association, George Mason University, Cinergy Conflict Management Coaching, Conflict Coaching Matters, the Strozzi Institute/Embodied Transformation (Leadership L1 program), Conflict Dynamics Profile/Eckerd College, and the Institute for Zen Leadership (IZL). She is trained in the use of the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument and certified in IZL’s Focus Energy-Based Indicator Assessment (an assessment tool connecting the mind and body). She trained with the Center for Mind-Body Medicine, teaches qigong, is certified in Yoga for Healthy Aging, and is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200).
