
Ali A. Weinstein, Ph.D., is the Director of Research and Scholarship at the Center for the Advancement of Well-Being. In her role, Dr. Weinstein creates opportunities for interdisciplinary, collaborative research initiatives that promote well-being at individual, organizational, and community levels while building a community of scholars focused on the science of well-being. Dr. Weinstein is a Professor in the Department of Global and Community Health in the College of Public Health and initially joined CWB as a Senior Scientist. She received her Ph.D. and MS in Medical Psychology from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and an MA in Sport and Exercise Psychology from the University of Maryland – College Park. Her research has focused on important contributors to health and wellness within the broad context of medical psychology: depression, stress, and physical activity/exercise. She pursues studies that aim to explain the mechanisms that link physical and mental health.
