If chosen for the program, you’ll join a collaborative team of students from across George Mason to be trained and hired as George Mason Student Strengths Coaches.
Through this program, you will:
- Understand your own strengths and how they impact all areas of your life
- Learn and apply the foundations of strengths and well-being, including the 34 CliftonStrengths talent themes developed by The Gallup Organization
- Make an impact in the lives of students through the learning and application of coaching skills in real-life scenarios, supported by dynamic and knowledgeable faculty and staff
- Gain experience you can apply in your professional career
- Have an on-campus job with flexible hours and competitive pay
Qualifications:
- Open to undergraduates who will be sophomores, juniors or seniors during the 2026-2027 school year
- Demonstrates awareness of and curiosity about strengths
- Committed to personal growth and helping others grow
- Able to complete UNIV 379 – Strengths Coaching Education in Fall 2026 (Mondays from 4:30 p.m. to 7:10 p.m.)

Able to commit to 5-10 hours a week (maximum of 15) in Spring 2027, with the opportunity to continue in future semesters. Paid employment includes coaching, meetings, and other programmatic activities. The actual number of hours will vary each week depending on coaching demand.

Maintain a GPA of at least 2.5 throughout the training and coaching semesters
What’s Required:
- Take the CliftonStrengths assessment
- Apply in Handshake and interview for the program during the application window
- Successfully complete UNIV 379 – Strengths Coaching Education in Fall 2026
- Able to fulfill paid coaching hours in Spring 2027 (average 5-10, maximum of 15 hours a week)
- Paid employment includes coaching, meetings, and other programmatic activities.
- Active participation in the program and excitement for supporting your fellow students!
Application Timeline

- March 11, 2026: Application Closes
- Mid-Late March 2026: Interviews
- Final decisions made by April 10
