Jill Manuel

Jill Manuel is an Exploratory Academic Advisor and Adjunct Faculty member in Undergraduate Education at George Mason University. Her work focuses on supporting student success through trauma-informed advising and teaching, with particular expertise in Adverse Childhood Experiences, empowerment, and resilience. She integrates scholarship and practice to foster agency and well-being in higher education, helping students navigate complexity with purpose and vitality.

Her research explores the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences on student development and persistence in higher education, emphasizing pathways to empowerment, agency, and resilience. By integrating trauma-informed practices with academic advising and pedagogy, she aim to foster environments where individuals can thrive despite complexity and uncertainty. This work aligns with CWB’s mission by advancing evidence-based strategies that promote vitality, purpose, and engagement, while equipping students with the tools to cultivate resilience and well-being across their academic and personal lives.
