Stefanos Tyrovolas, Ph.D., earned a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and Nutrition, a Master’s degree in ¨Applied Dietetics, and a Ph.D. in Nutrition from the Harokopio University of Athens (Greece). In 2014, his PhD title was homologated from the University of Barcelona (Spain). He has served as a Research Assistant Professor and as an Assistant Professor at the School of Nursing of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Hong Kong). In 2024, he joined George Mason University as an Associate Professor.
His research is focused on the epidemiology of healthy ageing, intrinsic capacity, and functionality. He investigates factors and pathways that are related to vitality and health resilience among older adults.
