The Research Affiliate Program at the Center for Advancement of Well-Being (CWB) offers a collaborative community for George Mason University faculty, research staff, and graduate students to share new knowledge and opportunities relating to well-being research. Fostering this network of scholars enables CWB to better advance, support, and celebrate interdisciplinary well-being research across the university.
We invite Research Affiliates from every discipline and form of scholarship. Our use of “Research Affiliate” embraces all scholars—those engaged in traditional research, creative practice, or any other form of academic or scholarly inquiry.

- Stay Connected: Be featured in a CWB Research Affiliate Directory and receive stories, newsletters, and reports related to well-being research and accomplishments.
Affiliates are expected to be engaged in well-being research and actively involved in CWB events and opportunities. We may also ask that affiliates complete a brief annual survey to help us better understand the priorities and needs of both our affiliates and the broader well-being community.
How to Apply
You can apply online to become a CWB Research Affiliate through the link below.
The application will require your professional details, including title, college, and research interests. We will also request a professional photo and a one-paragraph bio to feature on CWB’s website.
Application Review
After you submit an application, you can expect a response within 2 to 3 weeks. Affiliate terms last for three years, contingent on your active participation in CWB initiatives.
Term Renewal
Every three years, CWB will contact you to renew your membership and update professional information. You can also provide updates directly whenever necessary. If you wish to discontinue your affiliation, you may opt out of the CWB Research Affiliate Program at any time.
