Northern Neck, Alumni Relations Conference Room, # 110
All Mason faculty can join a new mindfulness community on campus designed to help them become educators who develop well-being and promote learning to the fullest. The Mindful Classroom, which is co-sponsored by the Stearns Center for Teaching and Learning and the Center for the Advancement of Well-Being (CWB), will meet on Wednesdays from noon to 1:15 pm on September 20, October 11, November 1, and November 29 during the fall 2017 semester, in the Alumni Relations Conference Room, room NN 110.
The community will explore the role that mindfulness (and related contemplative practices) can play in student learning, pedagogical methods, and student success. Participants will examine how each faculty participant can develop his or her own mindfulness practice and how that kind of self-care discipline can make them more effective educators.
